Callan Tansey Essay Competition 2019

Callan Tansey Solicitors have announced the 2018/2019 Callan Tansey Essay Competition in association with The Sligo Champion. This year marks the seventh year of the popular Essay Writing Competition.

In keeping with the Yeatsian theme, the title of this year’s essay is:

“All changed, changed utterly:
A terrible beauty is born”.

Social Media – deadly weapon or a platform for good?

Caroline McLaughlin, Partner at Callan Tansey, told the Sligo Champion,

“We are delighted to announce the 2019 Callan Tansey Essay Competition in association with The Sligo Champion. For the 2019 cycle, writing mentors Una Mannion and Eoin McNamee from BA Writing and Literature at IT Sligo will act as competition adjudicators.

We are also delighted to announce that Anton Savage, Broadcaster and Director of The Communications Clinic will present our competition winners at our award ceremony at The Hawkswell Theatre, Sligo on Thursday, 31 January, 2019.

The competition has grown considerably over the last number of years and we would like to thank the local schools in Sligo, their teachers and students for their ongoing support of the competition. We would also thank Liber sponsors of the 4th and 5th prize category.
